Without Him, We Are Dust. With Him, We Carry Redemption
A Reflection Inspired by Jesus to Cecil
Without interior life with God, all our efforts collapse into self. We begin preaching ourselves, working for ourselves, organizing ourselves—under the holy disguise of mission, but absent of Divine union. These are not merely distractions; they are spiritual failures dressed as success.
—
Without God, we are dust.
With God, we are valuable dust—sacred clay in His hands.
> “Apart from Me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
—
In His Divine Body—we preach.
Only in union with His Sacred Body can our words carry grace. Otherwise, we speak from the flesh and lead souls only to ourselves.
In His Divine Spirit—we breathe and bless and pray.
It is the Holy Spirit who animates true apostolic life. Without Him, prayer is noise and blessing is empty.
In His Divine Blood—we offer redemption to those who believe.
We do not redeem, but when united with Jesus, our sufferings, prayers, and hidden offerings participate in the flow of His Precious Blood.
—
With Him—all things are possible.
Without Him—nothing.
This is the sacred balance between humility and power.
A soul without union with God is like a ship without a sail—directionless, drifting, vulnerable.
But with God, the soul becomes a chalice, a monstrance, a living altar.
—
Summary:
– Without interior life, apostolic work becomes self-serving.
– With interior life, even silence becomes redemptive.
– We are dust—but with God, we become vessels of eternal life.
—
Final Prayer:
O Jesus,
I am dust—but with You, I am consecrated dust.
I am clay—but filled with Your Spirit, I carry eternity.
Let me not preach myself, but You crucified.
Let my breath be Yours.
Let my words be drops of Your Blood.
Let my silence carry Your Mercy.
I will not move unless You lead.
I am Your ship. You are my sail.
Guide me. Fill me. Use me. Or keep me hidden.
Only never let me leave You.
Amen.
