The Authority of Scripture: Safeguarded by the Church
I. Why This Scroll?
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
Souls must know that the Bible is not a private book. Its authority is safeguarded by the Church, interpreted in the Spirit, and lived in obedience.
II. Inspiration and Human Authorship
- Your Insight: “The Holy Bible is inspired by God with the mind and literary genre of a human author, chosen exclusively by God for this purpose. While God works within the mind of the author, the revelation is purely from God. This is the spiritual combination.”
- CCC 106: “God inspired the human authors of the sacred books. To compose the sacred books, God chose certain men who, all the while He employed them, made full use of their own faculties and powers.”
