Spiritual Possessions: The Currency of Eternity
A Reflection Inspired by Jesus to Cecil
He came naked.
He went naked.
So will we.
Jesus—the Eternal Word—entered the world in poverty, and He left the same way. The only things He carried with Him were His wounds and the souls He had redeemed.
—
No different for each of us.
We bring nothing with us into this world.
We take nothing from it—except our soul and its spiritual possessions.
Everything else—wealth, status, name, reputation—remains here.
Only love, sacrifice, prayer, repentance, grace, and hidden acts of mercy endure.
These will decide our eternal fate.
—
Your final spiritual possessions will decide your destiny.
If your soul is clothed in grace, filled with charity, and adorned with sacrifices offered in silence—then it is rich.
It is ready.
> “Store up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys.” (Matthew 6:20)
—
You cannot serve God and Mammon.
Mammon is not just wealth—it is attachment, comfort, ego, power.
To serve Mammon is to fill your hands with dust and your soul with emptiness.
When you die, you will have nothing to show.
But if you serve God?
You will hear:
> “Come, you who are blessed by My Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Matthew 25:34)
—
Because in God:
– Every moment was redeemed
– Every suffering was offered
– Every hidden act was recorded in Heaven
—
Final Prayer:
O Jesus,
Naked You came. Naked You returned.
Let me strip myself of all that is not You.
May I possess nothing in death but love.
May my soul carry the fragrance of Your Wounds.
May my hidden offerings shine brighter than gold.
Let me serve no one but You.
And when my hour comes, let me hear:
“Come, live with Me forever.”
Amen.
